Pair Eyewear Love Wins Design Contest Official Rules


These Official Rules apply to the Love Wins Design Contest (the “Contest”) sponsored by Pair Eyewear, Inc. (“Pair” or “Sponsor”). This Contest is co-sponsored by GLSEN (“Co-Sponsor”); however, Pair is solely responsible for operating this Contest and please direct all questions, comments, or complaints regarding the Contest to Pair. By participating in the Contest, each participant accepts the conditions stated in these Official Rules and the Contest Terms and Conditions available at (the “Contest Terms and Conditions”), and agrees to be bound by the decisions of Pair, each of which are final and binding in all matters related to the Contest. ANY VIOLATION OF THESE OFFICIAL RULES OR THE CONTEST TERMS AND CONDITIONS BY ANY ENTRANT MAY RESULT IN DISQUALIFICATION, AND ALL PRIVILEGES (INCLUDING THOSE AS WINNER, IF APPLICABLE) WILL BE IMMEDIATELY TERMINATED.

PROMPT: Participants will submit a frame top design which celebrates the Pride movement through symbolic imagery, patterns or colors meant to represent the LGBTQ+ community (referred to herein as the “Prompt”). Consider incorporating symbols or other elements that promote love and acceptance. We are looking for a design which is representative and innovative. Think of how the design can stand out, tell a story or offer a new perspective on Pride. Please be mindful of the level of detail in the submitted designs; overly detailed work may not be visible on a glasses topper!

ELIGIBILITY: The Contest is only open to legal U.S. residents currently residing in the fifty (50) United States and the District of Columbia (excluding Puerto Rico and all U.S. territories and possessions) and at least thirteen (13) years of age at the time of Entry (as defined below) (each person who meets these criteria and is otherwise eligible in accordance with these Official Rules is referred to hereinafter as a “Participant”). Participants who are under the age of eighteen (18) years of age must execute and attach a Parent or Legal Guardian Consent Form (available at (the “Consent Form”) along with their submission in order to participate in the Contest. We may disqualify submissions from individuals under the age of eighteen (18) if received without a properly executed Consent Form. Employees, independent contractors, officers, and directors of Pair or its affiliates, subsidiaries, advertising, promotion, and fulfillment agencies, and legal advisors, and their immediate family members and persons living in the same household, are not eligible to participate in the Contest. THE CONTEST IS VOID WHERE PROHIBITED OR RESTRICTED BY LAW and is subject to applicable federal, state and local laws and regulations.

CONTEST PERIOD: The Contest begins at 12:00:00 A.M. Eastern Standard Time on February 19, 2024 and ends at 11:59:59 P.M. Eastern Standard Time on March 16, 2024 (such period referred to herein as the “Contest Period”).


1. Participants may enter into the Contest during the Contest Period by creating and submitting an original image, painting, drawing, or design (“Contest”) in response to the Prompt and which can be translated into a top frame glasses template. All Content must:

  • Be submitted during the Contest Period through the Contest submission site available at (the “Submission Site”);

  • Be sent in either PDF or JPEG format; 

  • Include a brief description (200-300 words) explaining the design concept and its relation to the Prompt and;

  • Comply with the Content Criteria set forth below.

Additionally, Participant must provide the applicable information requested on the Submission Site, including Participant’s name and e-mail address. Participant’s entire submission including the Content shall be referred to herein after as the “Entry.”

3. A Participant who submits Content that complies with the above requirements will receive one (1) Entry into the Contest. Limit of one (1) Entry per person. Only the individual who submits the Entry will be considered the Participant, and that individual is eligible to win based on such Entry. Participation in the Contest is voluntary and does not require you to purchase anything from Pair. Submitted Entries may not be acknowledged. Proof of submission of an Entry does not constitute proof of receipt by Pair.

CONTENT CRITERIA: As determined in Sponsor’s final sole and absolute discretion, any Entry containing the following will be void and ineligible for entry:

  • The following forms of media will not be accepted as an Entry: video art, film, performance art, jewelry, AI-generated art. 

  • Content that contains any material that depicts graphic violence, promotes harmful or dangerous behavior, is libelous, defamatory, obscene, sexually explicit or in a manner intended to incite hatred on grounds of race, gender, religion or sexual orientation;

  • Content that is inconsistent with the Prompt; or

  • Content that disparages Pair or any of its affiliates or their respective representatives or agents.

Entries that are not received by Sponsor for any reason through the Submission Site will not be eligible and will be disqualified. Sponsor is not responsible for lost, misdirected, false, corrupted, illegible or late Entries. Sponsor shall have the sole discretion to determine the validity of an Entry.

All potential winners are subject to verification before any prize will be awarded. Automated or bulk entries or entries submitted by third parties will be disqualified. Incomplete, illegible, corrupted or untimely entries are void and will be disqualified. In the event of a dispute concerning the identity of a Participant, the Entry will be declared to have been made by the registered account holder of the email address used for Entry, but only if that person meets all other eligibility criteria, otherwise the Entry may be disqualified, and any potential prize won will be forfeited in Sponsor’s sole discretion. Any potential winner may be requested to provide proof that such winner is the authorized account holder of the e-mail address associated with the winning Entry or other proof of identity.


JUDGING OF ENTRIES: Within a reasonable time following the conclusion of the Contest Period, an independent judge selected by Sponsor will review and score each Entry based on the following criteria:

  • Criteria 1: Creativity and originality (20%):

  • Criteria 2: Alignment with the theme of Pride and inclusivity (20%)

  • Criteria 3: Aesthetic appeal and design quality (20%)

  • Criteria 4: Practicality and feasibility of the design for production (20%)

  • Criteria 5: The story or message behind the design (20%)

The top fifty (50) Entries that receive the highest total scores will be selected as the finalists of the Contest. In the event of a tie among multiple entries, the tie will be broken by the highest score for Criteria 3: Aesthetic appeal and design quality.

A second panel of independent judges comprised of members of Sponsor will review and score the top 50 Entries based on the above criteria to determine the winners of prizes for the Contest (each a “Winner”). The Winners will be notified by March 25, 2024 via the email address provided that their Entry has been selected as a winning design of the Contest. The selected Winners must respond by email within three (3) business days of Sponsor’s email or will forfeit the prize. If the selected Winners cannot be contacted or in the event of noncompliance with these Official Rules, the selected Winners may forfeit the applicable prize and an alternate eligible Winner may be selected from the remaining eligible Entries. Upon prize forfeiture, no compensation will be given. The selected Winners must continue to comply with these Official Rules and winning is contingent upon fulfilling all requirements. In order to receive a prize, the Winners may be required to provide proof of identification and/or eligibility. Where lawful, the Winners may be required to sign and return an Affidavit of Eligibility, Release of Liability, and Publicity Release.


The first place winner will receive a $500.00 Pair gift card (which is only usable for purchases at and their winning Entry featured as a design in the Pair Love Wins Collection, which is estimated to be released in May of 2024. All proceeds of the design will be donated to Co-Sponsor, a non-profit organization working to promote safe, supportive and LGBTQ-inclusive K-12 education.

All entrants agree that information provided by Pair is not advice, including but not limited to, tax advice or legal advice, and every entrant is advised to consult a professional, including a tax professional.


SPONSOR’S RIGHTS. By entering, you understand that your Entry will be reviewed by Sponsor and may be posted online by Sponsor on its website and social media channels to be viewed by members of the general public. All Entries that meet the Contest eligibility requirements will be entered for a chance to win, regardless of whether they are featured or posted by Sponsor.

WINNERS LIST: To obtain the first name, last initial, city and state of the Winner, send a separate self-addressed, stamped envelope marked “Pair Love Wins Design Contest Winner Info” to Pair. Requests for Winner information must be received no later than 90 days after the end of the Contest Period (residents of Vermont and Washington need not include return postage).

CONDITIONS. Sponsor, Co-Sponsor and its respective agents, directors, officers, shareholders, employees, insurers, servants, parents, subsidiaries, divisions, affiliates, predecessors, successors, representatives, advertising, promotion, and fulfillment agencies, and legal advisors (the “Released Entities”), are not responsible for, will not be liable for, and hereby disclaim all liability arising from or relating to: (a) late, lost, delayed, damaged, misdirected, misaddressed, incomplete, or unintelligible entries; (b) telephone, electronic, hardware or software program, network, Internet, computer or other malfunctions, failures, or difficulties of any kind, whether human or technical; (c) any condition caused by events beyond the control of the Sponsor or Co-Sponsor; (d) any injuries, losses, or damages of any kind arising in connection with or as a result of any prize, or any portion thereof that may have been awarded, or acceptance, possession, or use of any prize, or any portion thereof that may have been awarded, or from participation in the Contest; or (e) any printing or typographical errors in any materials associated with the Contest. By participating in the Contest, participants and the Winners agree to release, discharge and hold harmless the Released Entities, and all others associated with the development and execution of the Contest, from any and all losses, damages, rights, claims and actions of any kind arising out of or relating to the Contest, participation in the Contest, any prize, or any portion thereof that may have been awarded, and/or acceptance, possession, use or misuse of any prize, or any portion thereof that may have been awarded, including but not limited to statutory and common law claims for misappropriation or participant’s right of publicity.

MISCELLANEOUS. By participating in this Contest, you expressly agree to the Contest Terms and Conditions, which are hereby incorporated by reference in these Official Rules. Each Participant represent that there is no legal or contractual restriction barring participation, including, without limitation, any restriction from participant’s employer or company. Pair is not responsible for technical, hardware, software, network or other communications malfunctions, errors or failures of any kind, lost, interrupted or unavailable network connections, Internet or ISP availability, unauthorized human intervention, traffic congestion, or failed, incomplete, garbled, jumbled or delayed computer transmissions which may limit one’s ability to enter the Contest. Pair reserves the right, in its sole discretion, to cancel, terminate, modify, extend or suspend this Contest should (in its sole discretion) any virus, bugs, non-authorized human intervention, fraud or other causes beyond its control corrupt or affect the administration, security, fairness or proper conduct of the Contest. In such case, the potential winner(s) will be selected from all eligible Participants prior to and/or after (if appropriate) the action taken. Participants who do not comply with these Official Rules or attempt to interfere with this Contest in any way shall be disqualified. Pair is not responsible for any typographical, display, input, or other error in any Contest materials, or for any errors or problems which may occur in connection with the administration of the Contest, the processing of Entries, or in the announcement of prizes, including such error that may give an erroneous indication that a prize has been won. All issues and questions concerning the construction, validity, interpretation and enforceability of these Contest Terms and Conditions or the rights and obligations of entrants or Sponsor in connection with this Contest are governed by and construed in accordance with the laws of the State of Delaware without giving effect to any choice of law or conflict of law rules (whether of the State of Delaware or any other jurisdiction) that would cause the application of any other state’s laws.
