What are Tops Frames?

Add personality to your Pair with hundreds of swappable Top Frames that instantly snap onto your Base Frame. We have tops in unique patterns, bold colors, Sun Tops, and classics!

How Do Top Frames Attach to Base Frames?

The magic is in the magnets. Two invisible, ultra-lightweight magnets (we’re talking < 1 gram), cover the top left and right corners of the frames, firmly attaching the top frame.

What Are Top Frames Made Out Of?

Durable, injected-molded plastic.

How Thick Are Top Frames?

2mm. Our goal is to have our Pair Family seeing 20–20, so our Tops will not obstruct your vision.

How Heavy is a Top Frame?

The weight of a single Top Frame ranges from 2.6 to 3.5 grams, depending on the model. That’s lighter than a teaspoon of sugar! Our Sun Tops will typically add an additional 2–3 grams due to their lenses.

This extra narrow rectangle frame is a universal staple. The Otero looks fantastic on most older kids’ faces, and they particularly suit an oval or round shape.

Great for kids and small adults!

"We've purchased this same frame for my daughter for 3 years now. They were a little large on her when she first got them at 9 years old but the arms were adjustable to stay put. Now, at 11 years old, they still fit great! I can even wear them comfortably as an adult! This means her whole topper collection still can be used, so it's not wasted. She has had pink, but now got the clear teal color. She was very excited for this new option! We only had to wait about a week for her glasses to arrive, which was a whole week quicker than if we had gotten her glasses locally. This is a great option for bigger kids and smaller adults. Not fantastic if you have a low nose bridge, like me though. For those, go with the metal frames."

"I am in love with my glasses. I have been wanting to try these for a while and decided to give them a try. I especially like that I can transform them into sunglasses. "Little bit of a tight fit on an adult head, but fixes it pretty easy. Love having different topper options to match my fit for the day. I did have an issue with getting someone else's topper order and mine being who knows where that had to be fixed so it took twice as long to get my glasses, but otherwise no issues! I love them!"

"The glasses and prescription are great. Im disappointed in the toppers as i don’t feel like the magnets hold the toppers on well. I was hoping for ease of transitioning to needing sunglasses. Very happy with my oteros

"I was rather skeptical that an online order for new specs would work for me especially since my prescription requires a very strong transitional lens - but much to my surprise and relief these glasses are perfect! They work well for both distance and closeup vision and they have the added bonus of being stylish and fun in terms of the toppers and frame. Love them! Would recommend the thinnest lens that you can order if you have a strong prescription otherwise have fun picking out your new peepers! So many choices and easy to narrow down with the digital assist on your phone or laptop."

Not really photochromic 😢

"Just got my pair. Love the look and feel. I wish the sun feature took the lenses darker. When I’m out in full day sun the lenses hardly darken at all. I am forced to but a sun topper which seems like I paid for an added feature that does not do its job because now I have to buy a topper."
