How to measure pupillary distance at home
Excited for your new Pair? We are too!
Pupillary distance (PD) is the distance (measured in millimeters) between the centers of the pupils in each eye. This measurement is used when preparing to make prescription glasses.
1
Find a metric ruler
And grab a friend so they can measure your pupil distance in millimeters. Have them hold the ruler above your eyes, they can rest it on the bridge of your nose as long as they can still see your pupils. Keep the ruler exactly horizontal and line up the rulerâs (0) measurement with your right eye pupil.
2
Keep still
That means your head, eyes and ruler as still as possible. Have your friend read the millimeter line that lines up with the center of your left pupil. This number is your PD measurement. An adults PD should be between 54-74, the average is 62mm for a woman and 64mm for a man.

Repeat
The above steps a couple times to ensure you get the same measurement. Letâs get this right for the best prescription possible.
